Oklahoma High School Football Rankings: Class 6A-II Week Twelve

1. Bixby (11-0, 7-0, Last week No. 1).

   • The defending Champs won their 23rd-straight game 42-10 over Midwest City. Mason Williams had an off night, passing 13-19-116-1 with no touchdowns, but Braylin Presley was 21-230 for four scores on the ground and Brennan Presley made a pick six. Reis Vernon extended his remarkable season kicking PATs to 81/82.

   • The Spartans will play Del City Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Putnam City Pirate Stadium.

2. Stillwater (11-0, 7-0 Last week No. 2).

   • Last year’s State Runners Up rolled past Sapulpa 77-6. Gunnar Gundy was 33-41-383-0 with six TDs, and Anthony Bland was his top receiver with 19 catches for 230 yards and four scores. Qwontrel Walker led the ground 13-187 for three TDs. Uriah Kirby was 11/11 kicking PATs.

   • The ‘Neers will play Choctaw Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Yukon’s Miller Stadium. They pummeled the Yellowjackets 74-14 in district play.

3. Del City (9-2, 6-1, Last week No. 3)

   • The Eagles bounced back from their loss to Stillwater with a 33-7 rout of Booker T. Washington. It was only 13-7 to start the fourth quarter, but a fourth down stop, a fumble, and an interception led to the Eagles’ first playoff win in six years.

   • Del City will take on Bixby Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Putnam City Pirate Stadium.

4. Choctaw (8-3, 5-2, Last week No. 6).

   • Choctaw pulled off a 29-21 upset of Muskogee behind a 14-23-150-1, two TD passing performance from Thad Williams, and 27-115, one TD run game from Desean Moore. Gabe Johnson was 7-110 receiving , and Chase Jackson had a 58-yard TD run.

   • The Yellowjackets will get a rematch with Stillwater Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Yukon’s Miller Stadium. They fell 74-14 in their first meeting with the Pioneers.

5. Muskogee (8-3, 5-2, Last week No. 4).

   • The Roughers made a strong comeback attempt after trailing 29-6, but ultimately fell 29-21 to Choctaw. Ty Williams was 10-17-108-2 passing and Jimmie Coleman was 15-88 rushing for one score. Isaiah Givens was 10-38 on the ground for two TDs.

6. Booker T. Washington (6-5, 5-2, Last week No. 5).

   • Freshman QB Lathan Boone was 10-21-87-1 in the 33-7 loss to Del City. The Hornets kept things close till the fourth quarter, when offensive errors led to a 20-point blowout. Washington gave up three turnovers and 120 yards in penalties in the loss.

7. Midwest City (4-7, 4-3, Last week No. 7).

   • Bixby took a 21-0 first quarter lead and held on for a 42-10 final, but the Bombers made their mark. They held the Spartans to their second-lowest scoring game of the year, second-lowest margin of victory, and gave QB Mason Williams his first scoreless night of the season.

8. Edmond Deer Creek (5-5, 3-4), Last week No. 8).

9. Sapulpa (6-5, 3-4, Last week No. 9).

   • Marcus Esparza scored the lone Chieftain touchdown in a 77-6 beat down at Pioneer Stadium.

10. Lawton (5-5, 2-5, Last week No. 10).

11. Bartlesville (3-7, 3-4, Last week No. 11).

12. Ponca City (5-5, 3-4, Last week No. 12).

13. Sand Springs (2-8, 1-6, Last week No. 13).

CPHS Volleyball: Raylynn Mong signs with Ottawa University

Charles Page High School senior Raylynn Mong signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Ottawa University Wednesday morning.

Mong received an All-Conference Honorable Mention after helping her team to an 18-14 record record this season. She posted a team-high 376 assists and team-high 45 aces, along with 2 blocks and 189 digs.

Ottawa is a private Baptist university in Ottawa, Kansas competing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Braves went 27-13 last year and were 11-1 for second place in the conference standings. They won the post-season conference tournament and made their fourth-straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament. They are currently 20-14, 9-3 in the current season.

Ottawa is coached by Melissa Blessington in her sixth season. She owns a 166-66 overall record and 95-11 conference record with the Braves.

CPHS Volleyball: Devree Youngblood signs with Oklahoma Baptist University

Charles Page High School senior Devree Youngblood signed a letter of intent Wednesday morning to play volleyball at Oklahoma Baptist University. Youngblood was a four-year starter at outside hitter/middle blocker.

Youngblood led her team to an 18-14 season this year and the team put up two winning records in her career. She got an All-Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore and made the All-Conference first team and Academic All-Conference teams the past two seasons. She made the All-Tournament teams at the 2018 Union and Broken Arrow Tournaments, and the 2019 Sand Springs, Mustang, and Union tournaments.

In her senior year Youngblood accounted for 260 kills, 12 assists, 6 solo blocks, 48 assisted blocks, 326 digs, and 38 aces. She led the team in kills and digs.

OBU is a private Baptist school in Shawnee, competing in the NCAA Division 2 level and Great American Conference. The Bison went 16-17 last season and 9-7 in conference, but are currently 24-5 and 13-2. They are led by twelfth-year head coach Anna Howle, who owns a 312-137 record.

CPHS Softball: Sabrina Usher signs with Rogers State University

Charles Page High School senior catcher Sabrina Usher signed a letter of intent Wednesday morning to play softball for Rogers State University.

Usher is a two-time Academic All-State, three-time All-District, All-Region, and All-State selection. She earned District Offensive Player of the Year for leading the Sandites to a 23-13 record and fifth-straight Regional Championship.

The team-leading hitter was .490 at the plate this year with a 1.07 slugging average and .586 on-base percentage. In her career, Usher accounted for 125 runs, 173 hits, 96 singles, 45 doubles, 6 triples, 25 home runs, 1 grand slam, 144 RBI, 5 sacrifices, 28 steals, and 5 double plays.

RSU is a public university in Claremore, Oklahoma competing at the NCAA Division 2 level in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The Hillcats went 33-23 last season under fifth-year head coach Andrea Vaughan.

CPHS Softball: Makenna Skaggs signs with Rose State College

Charles Page High School senior Makenna Skaggs signed a letter of intent Wednesday morning to play softball at Rose State College.

Skaggs is a four-year Academic All-Conference selection, and two-time All-District Honorable Mention. She made the All-District first team as a junior and took home All-Region honors this past season after helping her team to a 23-13 record and fifth-consecutive Regional Championship.

The outfielder and third baseman was .289 at the plate this year with a .412 slugging average and .379 on-base percentage. In her four-year varsity career she accounted for 91 runs, 89 hits, 64 singles, 18 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs, 56 RBI, 33 sacrifices, 10 steals, and 4 double plays. She also threw 2 strikeouts in 2 innings as a freshman.

Rose State is a public community college in Midwest City, Oklahoma, competing in the National Junior College Athletics Association Division 1. The Raiders went 21-27 last season and 25-24 in 2018 under ninth-year head coach Nickie Madden.

CPHS Basketball: Davon Richardson signs with University of Central Oklahoma

Charles Page High School senior point guard Davon Richardson signed a letter Wednesday morning to play basketball for the University of Central Oklahoma.

Richardson was named to the Frontier Valley All-Conference third team as a sophomore and first team as a junior. He also made the All-Vype and All-Region teams both years.

Richardson has started 50 games for the Sandites and has scored 718 points, leading his team on 21 occasions with 9 double-doubles and a career high 44-point performance.

Last season he averaged 8.4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, and 15.7 points per game while shooting 48.9% on field goals, 29.0% on three-pointers, and 69.2% at the charity stripe.

UCO is a public university in Edmond, competing in the NCAA Division 2 level and Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The Bronchos went 11-17 last season and 4-15 in conference, but were 20-10, 12-7 the year prior. They are in their first season under legendary Head Coach Bob Hoffman

Richardson will join former teammate Colt Savage, who is a sophomore at UCO, but first he has unfinished business on the Sandite court. Richardson has helped lead the Sandites to a Regional Championship and State Tournament appearance over the past two years, and the team holds a 37-16 record in that span.

The 2019-2020 season will tip off Tuesday, November 26th at 6:30 p.m. with a non-conference home game against Ponca City.
