CPHS Softball: Makenna Skaggs signs with Rose State College
/Charles Page High School senior Makenna Skaggs signed a letter of intent Wednesday morning to play softball at Rose State College.
Skaggs is a four-year Academic All-Conference selection, and two-time All-District Honorable Mention. She made the All-District first team as a junior and took home All-Region honors this past season after helping her team to a 23-13 record and fifth-consecutive Regional Championship.
The outfielder and third baseman was .289 at the plate this year with a .412 slugging average and .379 on-base percentage. In her four-year varsity career she accounted for 91 runs, 89 hits, 64 singles, 18 doubles, 3 triples, 3 home runs, 56 RBI, 33 sacrifices, 10 steals, and 4 double plays. She also threw 2 strikeouts in 2 innings as a freshman.
Rose State is a public community college in Midwest City, Oklahoma, competing in the National Junior College Athletics Association Division 1. The Raiders went 21-27 last season and 25-24 in 2018 under ninth-year head coach Nickie Madden.
