CPHS Softball: Sabrina Usher hits home run in 13-3 loss at Union

The Class 6A No. 17 ranked Charles Page High School Slow Pitch Softball Team (6-9) suffered a 13-3 run-rule loss Tuesday afternoon at No. 2 Union High School (17-3).

Sabrina Usher kicked things off with a solo home run in the top of the second. The Sandites gave up a single and a double but Kimi Presnell caught a pop fly to strand two.

Union buried the Sandites in the bottom of the third with nine hits, two walks, and an error for a 9-1 lead.

Madelyn Blair doubled in the fourth and the Redskins walked two before Taber batted in Blair. Jensen Arnold scored on a pop fly from Makenna Skaggs but the inning came to a close soon after.

Union reloaded in the bottom of the fourth but the Sandites got off easy, giving up one run on a fielder's choice before Madelyn Blair caught a line drive and picked off a runner at first. Two hits and an error in the bottom of the fifth pushed it to 13-3 and the Redskins secured their fifth-straight win.
