Oklahoma High School Football Rankings: Class 6A-II Week Five
/Bixby (4-0, 1-0, Last week No. 1).
The Spartans won their 16th-straight game 54-10 over Sapulpa behind a 26-35-417-1, four touchdown performance by Mason Williams. They led 40-10 at the half before letting off the gas.
Bixby will travel to Booker T. Washington Friday at 7:00 p.m. They beat the Hornets 21-7 last season.
Stillwater (4-0, 1-0 Last week No. 2).
Gunnar Gundy was 18-19-335-0 with five touchdowns in a 48-10 rout of Deer Creek. Steven Brown was 7-204 receiving with 3TDs and Qwontrel Walker was 18-165 rushing. The Pioneer defense came up with three fumbles and deflected a punt in the first half alone.
The Pioneers will travel to Midwest City Friday at 7:00 p.m. They beat the Bombers 31-13 last season.
Del City (3-1, 1-0, Last week No. 4).
The Eagles were tied 20-20 with Choctaw midway through the third before exploding to a 41-20 victory. They will travel to Putnam West Friday at 7:00 p.m. They defeated the Patriots 49-13 last season.
Muskogee (4-0, 1-0, Last week No. 6).
Jimmie Coleman was 23-223 rushing for two scores in a 47-6 win over Ponca City. The Roughers forced seven fumbles and made a pick, led by Devion Williams with three recoveries, including an 89-yard TD return. Ty Williams was 5-13-63-1 passing with two TD runs and one TD pass.
The Roughers will host Sand Springs Friday at 7:00 p.m. They beat the Sandites 45-27 last season.
Booker T. Washington (2-2, 1-0, Last week No. 5).
The Hornets got a 28-0 shutout of Bartlesville, but it didn’t turn into a blowout till the late in the game. They only led 7-0 till the final minute of the third.
Washington will host Bixby Friday at 7:00 p.m. They fell 21-7 to Bixby last season.
Midwest City (1-3, 1-0, Last week No. 9).
The Bombers snapped back from an 0-3 non-district performance with a 23-7 defeat of Lawton, forcing five turnovers. They snagged four interceptions and blocked a punt while holding the Wolverines to only 32 yards on the ground. Midwest City amassed 220 yards on the ground, led by Omari Johns with 179 yards and two scores.
The Bombers will host Stillwater Friday at 7:00 p.m. They fell 31-13 to the Pioneers last year.
Lawton (3-1, 0-1, Last week No. 3).
The Wolverines suffered their first loss of the season, 23-7 to Midwest City, after giving up five turnovers. Four interceptions and a muffed punt, combined with a meager 32 rushing yards were contributing factors to the lopsided upset.
Lawton will travel to Deer Creek Friday at 7:00 p.m. They defeated the Antlers 34-17 last season.
Sapulpa (3-1, 0-1, Last week No. 7).
The Chieftains suffered their first loss of the season, 54-10 to Bixby. Eli Williams was 5-13-31-2. Sapulpa will host Bartlesville Friday at 7:00 p.m. They defeated the Bruins 63-58 last season.
Choctaw (2-2, 0-1), Last week No. 8).
The Yellowjackets hung tight with Del City till the third quarter before giving up a 21-0 fourth quarter shutout for a 41-20 loss. They will travel to Putnam City (1-3, 1-0) Friday at 7:00 p.m.
Edmond Deer Creek (2-2, 0-1), Last week No. 10).
The Antlers fell 48-10 to Stillwater. Tyler Travis was 18-111 rushing and Lemorris Davis was 9-57 for the lone touchdown. Gavin Houska was 13-24-92-0. Logan Ward kicked a 43-yard field goal.
Deer Creek will host Lawton Friday at 7:00 p.m. They fell 34-17 to the Wolverines last year.
Sand Springs (2-2, 1-0, Last week No. 11).
The Sandites defeated Shawnee 21-19 behind a 13-27-143-0, 1TD passing performance by Ty Pennington. Blake Jones led the ground game in yardage, 21-86, but Jacob Snodgrass led in scoring with 2 TDs on a 5-29 run game. Snodgrass also had 6 catches for 48 yards. The defense starred with 7 tackles for loss, an interception, and four fourth-down stops.
Sand Springs will travel to Muskogee Friday at 7:00 p.m. They fell 45-27 to the Roughers last season.
Ponca City (2-2, 0-1, Last week No. 12).
Sam McKinney scored on a kick return, but the Wildcats were shut out offensively in a 47-6 beat down by Muskogee. Aiden Wetzel was 2-11-37-1 passing and Grant Harmon was 1-4-8-1. Cameron Jackson ran 23-126.
The Wildcats will host Shawnee Friday at 7:00 p.m. They fell 32-27 to the Wolves last season.
Shawnee (1-3, 0-1, Last week No. 13).
Shawnee fell 21-19 to the Sandites thanks to a missed PAT and failed 2pt run. Karsen Conaway was 13-31-174-1 with two TDs and Demetress Beavers was 18-71 on the ground. Jaylon Orange was 3-79 receiving and 1-10 rushing with 2 TDs.
The Wolves will travel to Ponca City Friday at 7:00 p.m. They defeated the Wildcats 32-27 last year.
Bartlesville (0-4, 0-1, Last week No. 14).
The Bruins were shut out 28-0 by Booker T. Washington, but only trailed 7-0 late in the third quarter. Ben Winters was 14-37-152 with Shane Simpson catching 10 passes for 121 yards.
Bartlesville will travel to Sapulpa Friday at 7:00 p.m. They fell 63-58 to the Chieftains last season.
Putnam City (1-3, 1-0, Last week No. 16).
The Pirates snapped a fourteen-game losing streak with a 14-10 win over Putnam West. They will host Choctaw Friday at 7:00 p.m. They fell 49-7 to the Yellowjackets last year.
Putnam City West (0-4, 0-1, Last week No. 15).
The Patriots lost their tenth-straight game, 14-10 to Putnam City. They will host Del City Friday at 7:00 p.m. They fell 49-13 to the Eagles last season.
