CPHS Volleyball: Jenks sweeps shorthanded Sandites 3-0

The Charles Page High School varsity volleyball team (13-11, 2-5) was missing three of their best players Tuesday night when they hosted No. 2 ranked Jenks (18-3, 6-0), and the top team in the Frontier Valley Conference rolled to a lopsided 3-0 sweep at the Ed Dubie Field House.

Layla Lenex, Madison Blaylock, and Kasidy Holland were all unavailable for the match. Averi Tippit and Madison Fowler filled in for Lenex and Holland, while Olivia Dewitt replaced Blaylock at libero. Jenks won sets of 25-13, 25-15, and 25-9 to remain undefeated in conference play.

Payton Robbins scored the opening kill of the match but Maren Johnson scored two for Jenks in a four-point streak and the Trojans never relinquished the lead. Tippit served an ace for the 4-3 Sandite lead in set two, but once again Jenks surged past and never trailed again. The Sandites never led in game three.

Robbins led the Sandites in scoring with six kills and two aces. Teyha Johnson had seven assists, and Dewitt had 15 digs. Noella Prideaux led the Trojans with nine kills and three aces.

Sandite Volleyball will take a week off to get healthy before traveling to No. 18 Booker T. Washington (7-7, 2-3) Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Jenks will host 4A No. 3 Lincoln Christian (16-7) Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
