CPHS Golf: Meghan Charles places 39th at State Championship

Sand Springs freshman standout Meghan Charles wrapped up a stellar freshman year with a 39th place finish at the 6A State Championship Thursday.

Charles shot a 91 in round one for 38th place and came in 42nd in round two with a 97. She tied for 39th overall with a 188 total score.

72 athletes qualified for the State Tournament, which was held at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville.

Bartlesville's Faith Hopkins won the tournament with a 146 total score and a two-stroke lead on Bixby's Natalie Gough. Edmond North won the team title handily with a 21 stroke lead on Jenks and Bixby, who tied for second.
