CPHS Wrestling: Sandites steamroll 3A No. 2 Comanche 50-21, place 5th at Ram Duals

Owasso, OK - The Class 6A No. 5 ranked Charles Page High School wrestling team (12-3) finished strong at the Third Annual Ram Duals, throttling 3A No. 2 Comanche (12-4) for fifth place in the tournament.

Kaleb Tabor (19-9) pinned Ethon Hamrick in 4:21 and Braydon Dahl (1-3) picked up his first varsity win by pinning Kyle Lokey in 1:40 for a 12-0 Sandite lead.

Cade Cook won an 8-3 decision over Dayvon Taylor (16-17), Dalien Presgrove and Konner Doucet received forfeits, and Jacob Martinez pinned Josh Fincannon (8-14) in 3:59 for a 21-12 Comanche lead.

Gage Fain (16-6, 55-45) came up big for the Sandites by pinning Rowdy Rhone in 0:52 and Carter Young (31-1) pinned Lake Epperson to put the Sandites back out front.

Brendon Wiseley (12-7, 13-7) received a forfeit, State Champion Riley Weir (21-6, 83-24) scored a 16-4 major decision against State Qualifier Jaxon Miller, and Seth Jones (21-12, 23-15) won a 5-0 decision against Gage Miller to make it 37-21. 

Irwin Portillo (23-16, 29-21) escaped for a last-second takedown against State Qualifier Trevor Cusumano to win a 5-4 decision and clinch the dual. Scott Patton (22-16, 29-18) majored Trent Cusumano 16-6, and Chris Kirby (16-5) iced the cake by pinning Zack Mayes in 2:27. 

The Sandites will return to action Thursday the 25th when they travel to No. 9 Jenks (9-1).
