City of Sand Springs announces new Chili's Grill & Bar coming to RiverWest development

Sand Springs, Okla. (October 3, 2022) - The City of Sand Springs and Dallas-based Brinker International, today announced a new Chili's Grill & Bar is coming to Sand Springs and will be located in the City-owned RiverWest project. Construction is projected to begin in July 2023 on the now vacant corner at Main Street and Alexander Blvd., just east of El Maguey restaurant and Aldi.

Mayor Jim Spoon stated, "We are excited to bring Chili's to Sand Springs and welcome them to our community. Our staff continues to work hard to bring the very best national brand names to Sand Springs and Chili's Grill & Bar is a great addition to the City and to our RiverWest project”.

City Manager Mike Carter added that “Brinker selecting Sand Springs for its only current new Chili’s unit in the metro Tulsa area is a reflection of Sand Springs continuing to be recognized as the anchor for west of the River new metro growth, and our Sand Springs Council and City staff have an aggressive approach to economic development.

“The City has been very selective in the brands we have been working with, and Chili's was one of our top choices. This Chili's will be the newest prototype building design, and it will feature all the usual Chili's menu favorites. We are going to have high quality Brinker International offerings for our community and regional customers to enjoy."

With a 25-minute drive currently required for Sand Springs residents to reach the nearest Chili’s, the iconic casual dining brand is bringing its Southwest-inspired American favorites and more than 80 jobs to the community.

“While we’re proud of our presence in Oklahoma with nearly 30 locations, our new restaurant opening will bring casual dining a lot closer to Sand Springs residents with a far more convenient drive,” said Joe Taylor, Brinker International Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

“Chili’s is known for its fun atmosphere, delicious food and ChiliHead hospitality, and we look forward to opening our doors and bringing new jobs to the Sand Springs community next year.”
