Oklahoma Wrestling Community Rallies Around Jonce Blaylock

Submitted.

The Oklahoma wrestling community is rallying around one of their own as Jonce Blaylock undergoes a battle with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor, a very rare and aggressive sarcoma.

Blaylock was a two-time state champion wrestler for Berryhill High School and wrestled five seasons at Oklahoma State University before coaching two seasons as an assistant at Lindenwood University.

Now he’s facing his toughest match yet and it won’t be fought on the mat. It also won’t be fought alone, as friends and family are coming together to raise money for his treatment.

Supporters of Blaylock’s Battle have already raised more than $4500 through a t-shirt fundraiser, and they aren’t stopping there.

Oklahoma State-themed shirts are still available at this link, and a benefit golf tournament is coming up on Friday, July 29th at the Canyons at Blackjack Ridge in Sand Springs.

The inaugural Blaylock’s Battle Golf Fundraiser will feature two tee times at 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., with lunch served at noon, donated by Crescent Cafe

Individual participation in the tournament is $125, teams are $500, and sponsorship opportunities are available starting at $100.

There will also be a silent auction with many exciting prizes, including:

  • Round of golf for two at Tulsa’s prestigious Southern Hills Country Club

  • Round of golf for two at Cedar Ridge Country Club in Broken Arrow

  • (2) Rounds of golf for two at Tulsa Country Club

  • Signed college athletics gear from OSU, OU, TU, and UCO

  • OSU football helmet autographed by Mike Gundy
