Wheeler Dealers Camping Club members began the camping season with a March campout at Hulah Lake between Pawhuska and Bartlesville. The Wah Sha She campground at Hulah Lake is managed by the Hulah Osage Lake Association. Ten rigs attended. This first campout of the season was hosted by Jon and Kathy Tippin, Ponca City and Joe and Pat Brown, Bartlesville.

Some members arrived Wednesday and Thursday with the rest arriving Friday. Thursday afternoon some members played several rounds of Mexican Train in the building rented at the campground. That evening some of the members went out to eat at El Jalisco Mexican Restaurant in Pawhuska.

Friday members visited the Hulah Senior Citizens Center for lunch and that afternoon members played Bingo for prizes provided by the host couples. That evening Wheeler Dealers gathered at the Copan Truck Stop Restaurant for dinner with many enjoying the prime rib special and delicious homemade pies.

Saturday the group visited Pawhuska starting with breakfast at the Mercantile and some shopping there.  This was followed by a visit to The Lodge overlooking the beautiful Osage hills where The Pioneer Woman show is filmed. Some of the women then went back into Pawhuska for more shopping at the unique shops.  That evening the traditional potluck supper featured hot dogs and homemade chili provided by the campout hosts along with sides brought by other Wheeler Dealers members. Following supper the group played the final rounds of Bingo for prizes then visited around a campfire.

Sunday morning the campout concluded with a potluck breakfast and business meeting. Plans were given for the April campout at Sand Hills State Park, Hutchinson, KS. A moment of silence was held for member John Davis who passed away earlier in the month.

Most campouts are held in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, or Missouri with two or more couples planning the location and campout activities which often include visiting area attractions, eating at a local restaurant, games and pot luck meals.

Wheeler Dealers monthly campouts are held weekends from March to November with only lunch or breakfast gathering in February and August and a special Christmas Party in December. Members can make their own reservations at many of the Corps lakes through recreation.gov, the Corps of Engineers reservation service, or travelok.com for Oklahoma State Parks.
