The City of Sand Springs is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Fire Chief, Justin Hall. Chief Hall moves into the position after an internal process that was conducted upon the retirement of Fire Chief Mike Wood.

Chief Hall began in the fire service in 1995 as a volunteer. In 2001, he became a paid fire fighter for the Catoosa Fire Department. In 2005, he joined the Sand Springs Fire Department where he served as both vice president and president of the IAFF and was selected to serve as the Deputy Fire Chief in 2011. Chief Hall also serves in the capacity of Emergency Management Director for the city. Chief Hall holds an Associates of Arts Degree from Rogers State College, and an Associates of Science Degree in Fire & Emergency Services from Tulsa Community College. He is currently working to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University.

In announcing Chief Hall’s promotion, City Manager Mike Carter stated, “I have always had the utmost respect for Chief Hall and his dedication to service. His constant attention to the safety of our community and his loyalty to the men and women with which he serves, stand out as the major reasons that he has been selected for this responsibility.” He further stated, ”We held an internal only selection process as in my opinion, Sand Springs has some of the best trained and professional firefighters in the State, and I have confidence in our Fire Department personnel at every level.”

Chief Hall will take office officially on Saturday October 16th, and will be ceremonially sworn into office at the Sand Springs City Council meeting on Monday, October 25th at 6:00 p.m.
