HillSpring Church to host professional wrestling event January 2nd in Sand Springs

Professional wrestling will be coming to Sand Springs in 2021. Core Professional Wrestling will debut at HillSpring Church on January 2nd thanks to the efforts of local couple Nathan and Audra Estrada along with HillSpring Associate Pastor Matt Barnett, who will serve as the Commissioner of the new league.

The Estradas founded Core Wrestling after Tulsa’s Compound Wrestling shut down a year ago. The two first met in the ring at Compound, and jumped at the opportunity to purchase it and bring family friendly entertainment to Sand Springs.

“This is the ring that we both had our first matches in,” said Nathan. “We shared our first kiss in that ring, I proposed to her in that ring, and now we get to host our first wrestling show in that ring. It’s sentimental to us.”

The show will also be an opportunity for the Estradas to give back to their community. All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to HillSpring youth ministries.

There will be five matches, including a four-way free-for-all and a royal rumble. There will be two Championship qualifier matches, and the winners will compete for the heavyweight title in February. Colt Killbane will square up with Tommy Dean, and Double D will wrestle Mr. Nasty. Audra, known professionally as Skylar Slice, will be competing with tag-team partner Killista against Nova Phoenix and Erica Torres.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the show at 6:00 p.m. Front-row tickets will be $15.00, general admission is $10.00 and children ages 5 and under will get in free. The event is COVID-conscious and seating will be spaced out and grouped by family. Masks will be required and concessions will be available.

HillSpring Church is located at 8801 West 41st Street in Sand Springs.
