CPHS Volleyball: Sandites win eighth-straight, sweep Bartlesville 3-0

The Charles Page High School varsity volleyball team (9-6, 2-1) picked up their eighth-straight win Tuesday evening on the road with a 3-0 sweep of Bartlesville (0-7, 0-3) in Frontier Valley Conference action. The Sandites defeated the Bruins 25-18, 25-15, and 25-14.

Bartlesville only led once in the first set after a Hannah Lindsly ace at 2-1, but Sand Springs won the next nine rallies with three kills from Madison Burris. The Bruins cut that deficit to 14-11 with a kill from Lydia Knollmeyer, but the visitors finished strong with three kills and an ace from Devree Youngblood.

Game two was very similar to the first set, with the Sandites riding a nine-point streak to a 10-3 lead. Youngblood scored six kills in that set.

Mia Otten scored the first kill of the third game, and that was the only time the Bruins led. Cloe Campfield tied it and served an ace for the lead, and the Sandites never looked back. A pair of errors tied it at 5-5, but Sand Springs won the next nine points and five of the final six rallies.

Youngblood led all scorers with fifteen kills and two aces. Raylynn Mong notched seventeen assists, and Campfield had a team-high ten digs. Brooke Bluhm led the Bruins with five kills.

Bartlesville will return to action Thursday in a non-conference bout with Edison Prep (2-4). Sand Springs will also take a break from conference play when they travel to Lincoln Christian (5-4) Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
