CPHS Softball: Jacie Taber pitches no-hitter in 8-0 shutout of Stillwater

Senior Missouri State-commit Jacie Taber pitched a no-hitter Monday evening in Stillwater, throwing eight strikeouts in an 8-0 shutout of the Stillwater Pioneers (16-7, 6-4).

Taber (3-0, 32-10) secured the Sandites’ tenth shutout of the season as Charles Page High School (18-6, 8-2) concluded their district schedule with a second-place finish. They will get to host a Regional Tournament next week and will find out their opponents Wednesday.

The Sandites scored four runs in the top of the third with three singles, two walks, and an error. Makenna Skaggs batted in Elizabeth Luttrell, Sabrina Usher scored Skaggs and Kimi Presnell, and Madelyn Blair scored Usher.

Taber and Presnell hit doubles in the fourth, the latter scoring the former, and Presnell scored on a single from Jenson Arnold to make it 6-0.

Taber and Felicity Horn hit singles in the seventh. Luttrell hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Taber and courtesy runner Avery Tanner for the final runs of the game.

Sand Springs Softball will return to action Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. with a road game at Collinsville (18-10).
