Editor’s Note: I have only located two historical sources for this team, a story by Sand Springs Leader Sports Editor Jerry Wood about a win over Nathan Hale, and an unattributed story from The Dollar Saver on April 14, 1992.

Sand Springs vs. Nathan Hale

The Sandites won a 3-1 overtime battle with Nathan Hale to snap a five-year losing streak against the Rangers.

Hale took a 1-0 lead at 10:20 into the contest, but David Goodman tied it at 18:43 on a penalty kick. After a scoreless second half the game went to a pair of 10-minute overtimes.

The first OT was also scoreless, but Travis Braswell put the Sandites ahead with a 25-yard shot from the right sideline with 2:20 left in the game. Anthony Pedone added another goal with under a minute remaining on an assist from Keary King.

“This was a big win for us,” coach Keith Sullivan told the Leader after the game. “We have had some ups and downs in the early part of the season and we needed this win to get us heading in the right direction. We had a great team effort from everybody on the field tonight.”

Sand Springs vs. Skiatook

The Sandites improved to 3-3-1 with a dominant win against Skiatook.

Dan Eardley scored the first goal at 7:05, then Mitch Eardley scored at 12:53. Kyle Spence made it 3-0 at 22:50, then Dan Eardley added a second goal at 25:04. Anthony Pedone and Keary King made it 6-0 to end the first half. The second half was played with mostly backups in the second half.
