Kurt Burgess - Class of 1987

Kurt Burgess played for the Charles Page High School baseball team from 1984 through 1987 and made the All-State team.

Burgess compiled a 14-1 record his senior season with 123 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.06. He also had a .427 batting average with 6 homeruns and 39 RBI. He was named Tulsa Metro Player of the Year in 1987 and played in the Oklahoma-California Series. 

Burgess played collegiately at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and Oral Roberts University. He earned All-American honors at ORU in 1991 with a record of 15-1.

From 1991 to 1996, Burgess played in the Atlanta Braves organization, making it to the AAA Richmond Braves in 1995. In June of 1993 he was named Pitcher of the Month for the entire Atlanta Braves organization.
