The Sand Springs football program begins in the first grade and has a team for each grade level up till high school.
The Sand Springs Youth Football Association participates in the Indian Nations Football Conference with teams for first through seventh grade.
School football officially begins in eighth grade at Clyde Boyd Middle School. Sand Springs Public Schools fields two eighth grade teams, two freshman teams, a junior varsity team, and a varsity team.
Sand Springs Football Coaches
Head Coach Bobby Klinck took over the program in 2020 and owns a 30-18 record with the Sandites and a 43-30 record overall. He was 13-12 in two years as Head Coach at East Central, taking them to two playoff appearances and a State Runner-Up finish. He won two gold balls as Defensive Coordinator at Owasso and has also coached at Broken Arrow, Muskogee, and Southlake Carroll. As a player he was a three-time State Champion at Jenks, a Big 12 Champion, Rose Bowl Champion, and Cotton Bowl Champion at the University of Oklahoma, and a Conference USA Champion and Liberty Bowl Champion at the University of Tulsa. He also coaches running backs.
Assistant Head Coach, Special Teams Coordinator, and Co-Defensive Coordinator Jake Bray played linebacker for Owasso High School, then returned to his Alma Mater for four years as an assistant coach. He joined the CPHS staff in 2020.
Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks Coach Lee Kizzar played for Midwestern State University and earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Houston. He worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Central Missouri and has coached at Warrensburg, Mannford, and Tulsa Memorial. He joined the CPHS staff in 2020.
Wide Receivers Coach Darrack Harger was a two-year starter at quarterback, two-star recruit, and All-District selection at CPHS. He played two years at Pittsburg State University and two years at the University of Central Oklahoma before returning to coach at his alma mater in 2019.
Defensive Ends Coach Gage Kaiser graduated Broken Arrow High School in 2016 and was an All-District selection. He played collegiate ball at Pittsburg State University and joined the CPHS staff in 2020.
Cornerbacks / Special Teams Coach Jay Fleischman graduated Charles Page in 1988 and was an All-State and All-Decade selection. He played collegiate ball at Oklahoma State University. He was the head coach at Kellyville in 2005 before returning to Sand Springs in 2007.
Offensive Line Coach Gary Joice joined CPHS in 2023. He previously coached at Skiatook, Tulsa Memorial, Nowata, Tulsa Edison, Chelsea, Henryetta, the Oklahoma Defenders, and the Oklahoma Thunder. He is also the head coach for the Oklahoma Gators. He was an All-State O-line selection from Skiatook in 1988.
Defensive Line Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coordinator Kevin Avey is a 2006 CPHS alum. He played collegiate ball at East Central University and was a graduate assistant at ECU and West Texas A&M before joining the CPHS coaching staff in 2016.
Ninth-Grade Head Coach / Defensive Backs Coach Thomas Parks led the Eighth Grade team to two consecutive Frontier Valley Conference Championships from 2021 to 2022 before moving up to lead the freshman team to a conference title in 2023. He is a Stillwater 2010 graduate and studied at OSU.
Co-Defensive Coordinator and Safeties Coach Shane Ingram is a 1996 Claremore graduate, where he was the starting quarterback. He studied at OU and joined the CPHS staff in 2020.

Sand Springs Football History
The Sand Springs High School football program began in 1919, and the town's black school, Booker T. Washington, also had a football program. The two were consolidated in 1959 at the newly constructed Charles Page High School.
