7th Annual Riverfest
Celebrate Independence Day in style at the Seventh Annual Sand Springs Riverfest celebration on July 3rd at Case Community Park! Hosted by the Sand Springs Parks Department, this event promises to be a fantastic time for the entire family.
There will be games, activities, and food trucks on hand prior to the Sertoma Club’s 26th annual fireworks show. Challenge your friends to a game of volleyball or basketball on the park's courts, or try your hand at horseshoes. If you're feeling more adventurous, take on the park's disc golf course. With so many different activities to choose from, there's something for everyone at the Sand Springs Riverfest celebration.
When you're ready to take a break from all the action, head over to the Great Lawn for a picnic with family and friends. The beautiful Arkansas River provides a stunning backdrop for your festivities, and the park's spacious lawn is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the summer weather. Bring a blanket or set up some lawn chairs and soak in the ambiance of the park.
But the fun doesn't stop there! As the sun begins to set, get ready for the main event: the Sertoma Club fireworks show. This amazing display of fireworks will light up the sky over Case Community Park. With a variety of different colors and patterns, this is one show you won't want to miss.

Sand Springs Riverfest History
Riverfest - September 9, 2017 -
8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
The inaugural Riverfest celebration was held on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 to commemorate the unveiling of Case Community Park. Formerly known as River City Park, Case Community Park received a $6 million renovation, with $4 million in Vision 2025 funding and $2 million in personal donation from Mike and Pat Case.
With limited parking, a $10 fee was in effect for late afternoon events. The money raised benefited Riverfest and the new park. With the fee came a raffle ticket for a large television drawing that night.
Hot Air Balloons
A Hot Air Balloon show lifted off at sunrise to launch the days' festivities.
Car Show
A motor vehicle show was held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. featuring eleven classes of cars, five classes of trucks, and nine classes of motorcycle, in addition to miscellaneous categories.
Chalk-A-Thon
A free-to-enter Chalk-Art contest was held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with chalk provided.
Themes were Case Community Park, 3D Art, Original Art, and Super Hero. There were four entry categories: Adult, Youth, Group, and Child (age 12 & under). First-place prizes were given in each age division for each theme.
Basketball Court Unveiling
Representatives from the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball organization were on hand to officially open the Thunder Cares 3-on-3 basketball court at 10:00 a.m.
Kids Zone Inflatables / Splash Pad
Inflatables and other kids' activities opened at 10:00 a.m. The Rotary Club Super Splash Pad opened at 11:00 a.m.
Painted Rock Scavenger Hunt
The Sand Springs Pokemon Go Club hid Pokemon-themed painted rocks throughout the park.
Food Trucks & Vendors
Kona Ice, Rib Crib, El Jarocho Mexican Street Tacos, Purple People Feeder, Louie's Dawg House, Kingdom Concessions, Jubilee Concessions, and Short Bus Sandwiches were some of the food and drink vendors that participated.
Live Performances and Ceremony
The Sand Springs Community Band performed at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Charles Page High School Marching Band at 6:00 p.m.
Following the entry of the CPHS Marching Band, Mike and Pat Case were recognized for their contributions and the park was formally dedicated.
A mini-performance of the Oklahoma! musical play followed the dedication ceremony.
Sand Springs rockers The Rogues Five performed at the event from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The band featured I.J. Ganem, Randy Ess, Philip Wilson, Bard Coats, and Jamie Oldaker. The band charted on regional radio stations and opened for artists such as Jim Morrison and the Doors during their peak in the 1960s.
Sand Springs-native Morgan Ganem performed his original music at the brand new Great Lawn Amphitheater from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. He released his first full-length solo album in May of 2017 and was the resident performer at Safari Joe's H2O amusement park in Tulsa.
Fireworks
Imperial Fireworks, the company that puts on the shows at Tulsa Drillers games, performed a show at the conclusion of the festivities. The park was closed to vehicular access after 9:00 p.m. and the fireworks show began at 9:45, coinciding with the end of DJ Ganem's performance.
Community Picnic & Ice Cream Social - September 10, 2017
From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, Blue Bell Ice Cream was on hand, distributing 1,000 free cups of free ice cream. Family games and other activities were also available.
