A wooden sign at the front of Postoak Cemetery claims an origin of 1886, making it one of the oldest sites in Sand Springs, and it has remained relatively undisturbed since its inception. 

The cemetery rests on private property just a hair outside of city limits, and a quarter-mile north of 41st Street on South 137th West Avenue. The land is owned by Lyntab 3 LP, a holding company headed by Dr. Tom and Sue Lynn Warren, which also owns and operates Meadowlake Ranch on the neighboring parcel.

Phoebe Postoak is believed to be the first person laid to rest in the cemetery, at only fifteen years of age. According to Cemeteries of Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Taylor and Molea Postoak who lived on the property at the time. Both Taylor and Molea are also buried on the grounds. 

There are 143 marked graves in Postoak, with the most recent resident buried in 1998. The oldest known resident is Leona Francis Horton (b. Aug. 7, 1872 - d. Nov. 17, 1970 - Age 98). There are 23 children, 13 infants, and 7 residents over the age of 90. The median age of the park residents is 51.

Only four residents were buried in the 1990s and six in the 1980s. The park peaked in the 1930s with 23 burials, while 1940 was the busiest year with four..

The property is also known by another name; Sparky's Graveyard. Many locals have grown up hearing legends of hauntings and bizarre phenomenon within the cemetery grounds. Much like Cry Baby Bridge, Sparky's Graveyard is a nickname attributed to numerous graveyards across the state, with each community claiming their's is the original.

Postoak has been featured on numerous occult websites such as Haunted Places, Oklahoma Haunted Houses, and Red Dirt Report. Mysterious orbs of light are rumored to have been spotted within the grounds at night.
