Youth Wrestling: Eight Sandites win gold at Bedlam Battle

Eight members of the Sand Springs Team Big wrestling club brought home first place medals from this month's Bedlam Battle in Stillwater. 

Division 4

Zander Grigsby (13-7) won the 64-pound bracket, defeating Max McDaniel 11-2, Iziah Tusler 4-2, and Tyler Misenheimer 15-7.

Grady Mittasch (14-4) won the 76-pound bracket by fall, pinning Braxton Sloan in 2:55, Liam Russell in 0:49, and Hudson Hackbarth in 1:24.

Balance Johnson (9-3) placed second at 140, pinning Sean Mahoney in 3:41 and majoring Zeke Keith 10-0 before falling to Bryson Williams.

Division 3

Jaxon Grigsby (17-5) won the 52-pound bracket. He defeated Brenner Ball 4-0 and Jaxson Murray 7-2, and pinned Devin McCarty in 1:23.

Nation Johnson (11-5) won the 85-pound bracket entirely by fall, pinning Jasmine Richards in 0:31, Ethan Leonard in 1:26, and Danny Robinson in 2:06.

David Ritchey (8-5) came in runner-up at 76 pounds, falling 4-0 to Shawn Rounsaville in the finals. He pinned Bryce Ward in 2:56 and teched Isaac Sensintaffar 15-0.

Jaxon Trotter (29-7) placed third at 100 pounds. He defeated Kole Lamont 4-1 before falling 15-0 to Ethan Teague. In consolation he pinned Aiden Petitt in 2:43, then won a 4-3 rematch with Lamont.

Division 2

Promised Johnson (12-3) won the 75-pound bracket, defeating Jakiyas Peterson 7-2 and Colton Flynt 8-3.

Jayden Bussell (17-12) placed second at 64 pounds, pinning Jakobie Brown in 0:48 and defeating Luis Flores 10-6 before falling to Levi Dicksion.

Kasen McAffrey (15-3) placed third at seventy pounds, winning an 8-3 decision over Payson Robinson and pinning Aaden Falls in 1:17, but fell 9-5 to Jaedan Adams.

Novice 3

Lane Bailey (15-1) won the 64-pound bracket entirely by fall, pinning Carter Meloy in 1:16, Carver Barnett in 0:28, and Kolby Robertson in 0:22.

Isaac Sensintaffar (8-0) won the 76-pound bracket, pinning Austin File in 0:21 and Devon Kramer-Klouda in 2:38, then topping D’andre Bourland 6-4 in the finals.

Connor Beals (14-9) placed third at 73 pounds, pinning Zachary Swan in 2:52 and defeating Drake Blue 4-2 before falling to Mia Adams and Brock Lawson. He also placed third in Novice 4 (1-2), defeating Cree Young 6-0.

Novice 2

Griffin Sensintaffar (12-2) won the 52-pound bracket, pinning Landon Heskett in 1:53 and Hunter Leverich in 0:55, and majoring Jantzen Leonard 14-5. He also placed fourth in Open. He fell to Conner Vance and Ty Whitlock, but pinned Tharon Ingram in 0:42 and defeated Corbin Alexander 12-9.

Taytum Parker (5-7) placed fourth at 52, defeating Heskett and Leonard 3-0, but falling to Jason Hillberg and Tucker Daniels.

Blayton Collins (18-13) came in runner-up at 64 pounds. He defeated Mason Denison 5-4 and pinned Jakobie Brown in 0:49 before falling to Owen Burns.

Novice 1

Cooper Ellenburg (19-10) placed fourth at 52 pounds. He pinned Brian Colvin in fifty seconds before falling 21-18 to Zayden Gray. In consolation he pinned Sam Finton in thirteen seconds, then defeated Nolan Harper 6-4 and Brady Herrera 8-6 before falling to Gray again in the finals.
