CPHS Volleyball Rewind: Sandites have successful first season under Derek Jackson
/Derek Jackson is the third head coach in as many seasons for the Charles Page High School volleyball team. He graduated Kellyville High School in 2010, Northern Oklahoma College at Tonkawa in 2012, and Oklahoma State University in 2016. He coached two seasons at Clinton High School for a 35-26 record before taking over the Sandite program. He holds a 53-40 career record after taking the Sandites to their first winning season (18-14) since 2016.
Senior OH/MB Devree Youngblood led the team in two categories with 260 kills and 326 digs in addition to 12 assists, 30 blocks, and 38 aces in 96 sets. She was named to the All-Tournament team at the Mustang Invitational. Youngblood will continue her volleyball career at Oklahoma Baptist University.
Senior MB/OH Vanessa Wyrick scored 98 kills, 5 assists, 40 blocks, 42 digs, and 27 aces in 84 sets.
2019-2020 Sandite Volleyball went 5-4 in Frontier Valley Conference action for the second-straight year, won their home tournament, and placed second at the Mustang Invitational. They went 11-2 on their home court, starting the season 10-0 at the Ed Dubie Field House. Their longest win streak of the season was a whopping eight matches.
