CPHS Tennis: Bateman places sixth at Union, McGeehee takes eighth

Both Charles Page High School tennis teams had solid outings at last weekend’s Union tournament. The girls placed twelfth out of seventeen teams in their season debut, while the boys tied for thirteenth out of fifteen with several solid improvements over the prior week.

Logan Bateman, who placed twelfth last week, improved to sixth in No. 1 Singles with wins over Carson Thomas (Broken Arrow) and Avery Walton (Bixby). He lost to both Thomas and Walton at the Jenks tournament.

Colby Williams improved from thirteenth to twelfth in No. 2 Singles, defeating Thomas Alvarado (Enid). Aries Howard and Tanner Burgess placed fifteenth in No. 1 Doubles, defeating the team from Stillwater. Dylan Warren and Hayden Ashcroft placed fourteenth in No. 2 Doubles, winning their first match of the season against the Union JV team.

Abigail McGehee placed eighth in No. 1 Singles for the Lady Sandites, defeating Brooklyn Sanders (Stillwater). Betsy Almaraz defeated Kaitlynn Miller (Enid) for twelfth in No. 2 Singles. Rilee Buchanan and Alesha Milsap defeated Riverfield and Union JV for thirteenth place in No. 1 Doubles. Loghan Adams and Makayla Tucker placed sixteenth in No. 2 Doubles.

The boys will return to action March 29th at 8:00 a.m. in Muskogee and the girls will play there on the 30th.
