CPHS Baseball: Sandites win 12 straight, Ash hits home run against Jenks

The Charles Page High School varsity baseball team (16-6) won their twelfth-straight game Friday evening in the second round of the Spartan/Tiger Turf War in Bixby.

Though the 5-1 tournament win over Jenks High School (12-11) wont count for district standings, it was an important moral victory over a team the Sandites are currently tied with at 4-2 in District 6A-3.

The Trojans struck first with a pair of singles in the first inning, and Bryce Osmond scored on an error, but that was all that Jenks would muster.

A single and a pair of walks loaded the bases in the top of the fourth and the Sandites took the lead. Kyler Copeland batted in Cale Savage, Lucas Adcock scored on an error, and Malachi Burks stoke home to make it 3-1.

Savage scored again in the sixth inning on a ground ball from Kameron Adcock, then Tyler Ash hit a home run in the seventh.

Brock Youngblood (3-3, 9-11) went the distance on the mound, throwing five hits, one walk, and four strikeouts.

The Sandites will next take on the host team, Bixby High School (15-7) in the final round of pool play, and will host Jenks in a district rematch Monday at 6:00 p.m.
