Youth Wrestling: Oklahoma RTC wins Southern Plains Dual Tournament

Fifteen Sand Springs wrestlers competed at the Southern Plains Dual Tournament this past weekend at the Cox Convention Center in Tulsa.

Middle School

Christian Forbes (19-3), Owen Martin (22-8), Bryce Fisher (3-2), Brooks Dudley (6-4), Kaden Glass (18-1), and Ethan White (12-10) competed on the Oklahoma RTC team that won the tournament. Forbes and Glass went undefeated and Martin had only one loss.

RTC won all of their duals handily, 61-15 against SP Spartans, 63-12 against Terps Assassins, 71-6 against the Oklahoma Outlaws, 50-24 against Texas Dynamite Black, and 44-19 against Terps Extreme.  

Ethan Norton (10-19), Caleb Phillips (4-1), and Clay Gates (4-1) competed with Terps Assassins and finished fifth.

Elementary

Clayton Giddens-Buttram (29-2) and Rhett Peak (15-5) went undefeated on the Oklahoma RTC Elementary team that won the tournament. Giddens-Buttram pinned three of his opponents in the first period and teched another 17-2.

RTC beat Texas Dynamite Red 83-0, SP AllStars 74-6, Terps National 54-18, and Oklahoma Lightning 75-6.

Grady Mittasch (17-6) competed with the Oklahoma Outlaws and came in third with a 4-1 record. Bentley Cole (6-8), Balance Johnson (11-6) and Jaxon Trotter (8-7) placed fourth with Oklahoma Lightning.
