Highway 97 Rivalry Alumni Game
For nearly a hundred years the Sand Springs and Sapulpa High School Football teams have met in one of the most bitter rivalries in Oklahoma history. In recent years, the alumni have continued that rivalry into the summer with a fundraiser football game.
The Highway 97 Rivalry Alumni Game alternates fields each year. The two teams split ticket sales and the home team keeps the concessions profit.
After four years and a split 2-2 record, the series was canceled in 2018 due to low participation. Interest was expressed in moving it to a biennial format.
