Sand Springs Churches
The church is an integral part of life in Sand Springs, even for the irreligious. Nonprofit faith-based organizations provide resources for those in need, but they also serve their community in less traditional ways.
The Sand Springs Local Church Network and other independent organizations host free events throughout the year, including Boo at Case Park, the Kids’ Fishing Derby, back-to-school bashes, carnivals, and more.
Sand Springs churches are also notorious for local services missions like painting schools, cleaning up the yards of the disabled, assisting with City projects, and any other volunteer opportunities they can find. Entire congregations could be found volunteering to muck out houses and clean up damage from the historic Flood of 2019.
Sand Springs is home to more than fifty churches, including fourteen nondenominational churches, sixteen Baptist churches, nine Southern Baptist churches, two Free Will Baptist churches, six Assemblies of God churches, and four Holiness churches.
Minority churches represented in Sand Springs include Episcopal, Lutheran, Catholic, Nazarene, Methodist, Presbyterian, Seventh Day Adventist, as well as the Church of God of Prophecy and the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Christianity is the only religion represented in Sand Springs.
