The first-ever Sand Springs High School Cross Country meet was held September 15, 2018 in Case Community Park. The Eighth Annual Conner’s Classic 5K was relocated from Ray Brown Park to coincide with the high school meet.

The Conner’s Classic is named for former CPHS special needs student Conner Williamson who is physically unable to run. Elementary Coach Chris Corbin pushes Williamson through the course in a racing stroller every year, and the proceeds from the race go to help support the Sandites in Stride Booster Club, with a large earmark for the special needs program.

The unique course utilizes a long stretch across the top of the Arkansas River levee, offering a scenic aerial view of the surrounding park.
