Montie Rolen Box was born July 31, 1930 in Comanche, Oklahoma. The first child of Jim and Modena Box, he took the love they gave him and the many lessons they taught him, carving out a full and meaningful life with beloved family and friends.
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame has released the names of the newest members of the the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame who will be honored during a Saturday, Feb. 17 ceremony and concert at the Muskogee Civic Center.
The Sand Springs City Council passed a unanimous resolution Monday renaming the former downtown Triangle District as the “Box District” in honor of Montie Box.

Rain and mud couldn’t put a stop to the Monster Ball Thursday night. The seventh annual fundraiser was relocated from the Sandite Softball Complex to Memorial Stadium and raised $4,000 for Special Olympics.
